USEFULLchamber "A Dream Within a Dream"
A 16 piece chamber ensemble + vocalists, USEFULchamber performs music from their album "A Dream Within A Dream".
Music by Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Phillip Glass, Gustav Mahler, Claude Debussy, Elliot Cole, Leila Adu, Vienna Teng and Brandon Ridenour - woven together just as dreams often flow from one to the next. The album concept reflects on Edgar Allan Poe’s poem, “A Dream Within A Dream”, which explores the difference between the real and the imaginary. In both the poem and album, human life slips away and our existence becomes questionably insubstantial, suggesting that the life we perceive could be just a dream within a dream.
This concert is a part of the "Sunken Cathedral" series presented by Trinity Church Wall Street. USEFULchamber will also perform their 21st century, "pop" renditition of Debussy's "Sunken Cathedral". Admission is free!
